Morchella, also known as "morel vegetable", is a fruiting body of fungi in the family Morchelaceae, such as morel, small topped morel, and pointed morel. Morchella is a world-renowned rare edible and medicinal mushroom, named after its honeycomb shaped cap that resembles an open morel.

Morchella is a low-temperature and high humidity fungus that prefers shade. It is mainly distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan, Jilin, Gansu, Xinjiang, Shaanxi and other places in China. Generally, it is harvested at the turn of spring and summer, washed away from the soil at the base of the mushroom stem, dried in the sun, and set aside for later use. According to traditional Chinese medicine, morel mushrooms have a sweet and mild taste, and belong to the spleen and stomach meridians. They have the effects of digesting food and regulating the stomach, resolving phlegm and regulating qi, tonifying the kidney and absorbing qi, and invigorating the brain. They are mainly used to treat symptoms such as indigestion, spleen and stomach weakness, excessive phlegm and shortness of breath, dizziness and insomnia. Modern research has shown that morel mushrooms have the effects of improving the body’s immunity, anti fatigue, lowering blood lipids, antiviral, anti-tumor, and reducing the toxic side effects caused by radiotherapy and chemotherapy in cancer patients.
